MY EXPERIENCE

A camping trip had been long overdue, so my brother Akkie, my cousin Shruti, and I decided to rent an RV and camp in Osoyoos. Instead of opting for a long journey, we settled on a weekend getaway since we were still new to the camping experience. Osoyoos is located around 400 km from Vancouver, and the drive took us about 5-6 hours. We followed Highway 1 to Hope and then veered onto Highway 3, passing through Penticton on our way to Osoyoos. The drive itself was incredibly comfortable and scenic, offering everything you'd expect from the stunning landscapes of Beautiful British Columbia.

We parked our RV at sw̓iw̓s Provincial Park (Haynes Point). Although it wasn’t initially planned, it was nighttime, and we needed rest, so we decided to spend the night there. The park charged $30 (cash) for the RV site without requiring a reservation. We got to fully appreciate the beauty of our location the following morning—we were on a long strip of land with water on both sides. The view was so stunning that we immediately decided to stay another night. sw̓iw̓s Provincial Park offers public toilets, on-site water availability, tent sites, and a boat launcher, among other amenities.

The nighttime atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. The soft sound of the sea breeze and the gentle winds made it so peaceful. On one side, we had the sea, and on the other, a lake that was perfect for swimming. The water was pleasantly warm, not too deep, and ideal for a dip. We found a perfect picnic spot, played some mellow music, had some snacks, and enjoyed a refreshing swim in the lake. It was a wonderful RV experience in Osoyoos.

BOOKINGS & RESERVATIONS

To book the RV, we used the platform Rvezy. It has easy bookings with handy UI, deal with the owner directly, exchanges images of the vehicle before and after your trip, and gets a video tutorial of the vehicle. My experience with Rvezy was totally satisfying. The name of our RV was Pearl, she was an overall 10. Pearl had all the basic amenities, smooth to drive, very well-equipped, it was just perfect! The owner was sweet and very cooperative. I have mentioned the link for bookings. Link: To Book Pearl

For sw̓iw̓s Provincial Park, we paid 30$ (cash) for RV-site as we. We were lucky as it was peak time. Online reservations are available. Link: sw̓iw̓s Provincial Park

  1. Keep a check on the water tank. (most gas stations have water hoses)

  2. Keep a check on the propane/gas cylinder.

  3. Stack essential groceries.

  4. Don’t ever forget the mosquito repellent.
